Kristine Cannon | Aerial Artist
Kristine is an aerial hoop artist who employs music, character, movement and her long locks of hair to bring performances alive. She’s been dancing since the age of 5, with formal training in ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary disciplines. After high school, Kristine moved herself across the country to join The Young Americans in Southern California. She toured nationally and internationally for 3 years, teaching and performing as a singer and dancer, including shows at Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm.
Kristine discovered circus arts in 2012, falling in love after a single swing on flying trapeze. In 2013, she began training on aerial hoop at San Francisco’s Circus Center under the coaching of Elena Panova (Moscow Circus, Big Apple Circus, Circus Knie, Cirque d’Hiver). She choreographs and performs on aerial hoop for shows, festivals and video productions in the Bay Area.
Over the years, she’s flirted with static trapeze, cyr wheel, and rope; but aerial hoop has always remained her one true love. In 2019, she expanded her aerial practice to include aerial sling under the training of Ashe Giovanni (Hubba Hubba Revue, The Murder Mystery Company, Lagunitas Beer Circus, and former co-owner of Bangarang Circus)., and added hair suspension to her repertoire in 2023. Currently, Kristine is an Aerial Instructor at San Francisco’s Circus Center, where she continues to train, perform, create original works and choreograph for shows. She loves dachshunds, and is an advocate for silly faces and laughter.
